I was born in Akron, Ohio, in 1945 and grew up in Port Clinton, Ohio. After receiving degrees in education from Baldwin Wallace College and the University of Toledo, I taught school for 38 years—13 years in public schools, then 25 years at Toledo Christian Schools.
My wife, Molly, and I were married in 1968. I was saved in 1974 after a lay witness group came to church and explained how to have a personal relationship with Christ. My wife was saved soon after. My two favorite books of the Bible are John and Hebrews. John 1:14 and Hebrews, chapters 9 and 10, are especially meaningful to me.
After retiring from teaching in 2007, I spent 9 years on staff at my church in Perrysburg, Ohio, as director of missions and visitation. During that time, I led multiple mission trips to SE Asia. Molly and I had previously served as dorm parents at a missionary boarding school in Malaysia for a year.
Molly and I have 5 children and 20 grandchildren. I enjoy reading biographical war histories, particularly of the Civil War and World War II.I look forward to Jesus’ soon return and being with him forever!
