1 Samuel 1:10–11 (ESV): 10 She was deeply distressed and prayed to the Lord and wept bitterly. 11 And she vowed a vow and said, “O Lord of hosts, if you will indeed look on the affliction of your servant and remember me and not forget your servant, but will give to your servant a son, then I will give him to the Lord all the days of his life, and no razor shall touch his head.”
The Lord sees you in your suffering and cares about your pain. Cast your cares upon Him and watch His gracious hand act on your behalf.
Hannah was deeply troubled that her womb was closed. She desired a child so badly and was even mocked for being barren. Her husband Elkanah didn't understand. He thought she had all she needed in him. Hannah took her pain to the Lord. Her words and tears did not go unnoticed. The Lord heard her cry for a child and He opened her womb. The Lord could have said “no” and she would’ve needed to be OK with that. Yet she cast her cares upon the Lord and He answered her!
What are you doing with your cares? Are you suffering in your pain all alone? The Lord is your Shepherd, you shall not want. He wants to walk through your cares with you. Don't walk alone. Invite God into your sorrow and pain. He is a good Father and desires to show Himself strong through you. Run to the Father and share your heart with Him. He will hear your cries just like Hannah’s. He loves you! Amen?
Father, we thank You for caring for the things we care about. May we never forget that we have a strong and capable shoulder to cry on. Your will be done in our lives we pray in Jesus' name, amen.
