Judges 13:17-18

Judges 13:17–18 (ESV): 17 And Manoah said to the angel of the Lord, “What is your name, so that, when your words come true, we may honor you?” 18 And the angel of the Lord said to him, “Why do you ask my name, seeing it is wonderful?”

Jesus visits us in our circumstances and provides what we need to succeed. If He can open the womb of a barren woman and bring a deliverer to Israel, He can work in your situation. Never cease to call on His name!

Manoah and his wife had no children for she was barren. The angel of the Lord appeared to Manoah and his wife and told them they were going to have a son but he was to be under a Nazite vow for life. He would be the deliver of Israel. Manoah asked the angel of the Lord His name, and He replied, wonderful, which is a name for Jesus, who is God the Son (Isaiah 9:6). Monoah said to his wife, “We shall surely die, for we have seen God (vs 13).”

Aren't you grateful that the Lord invades the dark places of our lives? He visits us in our difficulties and doesn't necessarily remove them but gives us what we need to work through them. Just as Jesus appeared to Manoah, so too will He appear to you. He desires to strengthen and encourage us through our circumstances. Never cease to look to the Lord for help. He will meet you!

Father, we thank You for meeting us in our present state and giving us what we need to succeed. Help us to look to no one else but You. Keep our eyes fixed on You and strengthen us we pray in Jesus' name, amen.
