Matthew 15:33-34 (ESV): “33 And the disciples said to him, “Where are we to get enough bread in such a desolate place to feed so great a crowd?” 34 And Jesus said to them, “How many loaves do you have•?” They said, “Seven, and a few small fish.””
One thing about failing a test from God is that He is faithful to give us the test again!
Jesus went throughout Galilee healing the sick and ministering to the disenfranchised. After the multitude had been with Him for three days, He said to His disciples, “I am unwilling to send them away hungry.” The first time He gave them this test, they wanted to send the people away. They didn’t do much better here, as they wondered where they could get enough food to feed them. Jesus said, “What do you have?” That is how they were to pass the test: simply bring what they had and let Jesus provide the food.
Did you know Jesus is able to multiply what you have in order to move? The test the disciples were given again was not really about food, but about bringing to Jesus what they had. That is what He wants from us. When you are faced with an impossible situation, just bring what you have. If it’s faith alone, then bring it. That’s how you pass the test the first time and every time thereafter! Amen?
Father, thank You for training us and giving us opportunities to learn Your ways. May we learn from You and never grow weary as You disciple us. We pray in Jesus’ name, amen and amen.
