Matthew 24:3-4

Matthew 24:3-4 (ESV): “As he sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?””

God does not want His people in the dark about the things to come. He has given us His completed revelation in the Word of God, which tells us what to expect. We can see the signs present

today. Jesus is coming soon!

After leaving Jerusalem, Jesus told His disciples that the Temple would be destroyed. He led them to a place on the Mount of Olives and gave them a teaching in response to their questions: “When will these things be? What will be the sign of Your coming? And what will be the sign of the end of the age?” They wanted to know what to expect. Jesus spends all of Matthew 24–25 answering these questions. The end result of “these things” is the Second Coming of Christ!

Do you have questions about the prophetic plan of God? God wants you to be aware so you will stay engaged and on mission. Study the Word of God, and you will not only be equipped but also encouraged. Peter said scoffers would come in the last days and scoff at the idea of the Second Coming of Jesus (2 Pet. 3:1). Don’t buy it. God has revealed His plan to us. Study it. Trust it. Proclaim it! Amen?

Father, thank You for revealing the things to come to us. Give us understanding as it relates to Your plan so that we might be comforted, encouraged, and equipped to proclaim it. We pray in Jesus’ name, amen.
