Isaiah 63:1

Isaiah 63:1 (ESV): “Who is this who comes from Edom, in crimsoned garments from Bozrah, he who is splendid in his apparel, marching in the greatness of his strength? “It is I, speaking in righteousness, mighty to save.”

We have a Redeemer who is mighty to save—but also One who is mighty to judge. There is coming a day when the child from the manger returns as the Lion of the Tribe of Judah to make war against those who have rejected Him. You don’t want to be found standing against Him in that day. It won’t end well.

Isaiah gives us a prophetic glimpse of the Second Coming of Christ at the end of the Tribulation. He declares that Jesus will come to wage war on His enemies in Edom, specifically in Bozrah. Scripture teaches that Jesus will descend upon the Mount of Olives and immediately head south to Bozrah, where He will slay His enemies with the sword of His mouth. From there, He will make His way to Jerusalem—to the Valley of Jehoshaphat (also known as the Kidron Valley)—continuing to execute judgment on those who have resisted His reign. Then He will take His rightful throne on the earth. It won’t be a battle—it will be a slaughter.

If Jesus came back today, would He be your Savior or your Judge? His desire is to save you. He longs that no one would perish but that all would come to repentance. If you haven’t fully placed your faith in Him, you can do so now by surrendering to His Lordship. He is either Lord of all or not Lord at all. Give Him your whole heart today. You won’t regret it.

You can pray this prayer sincerely and make Him your Lord:

Father, thank You for giving me a way of escape. I deserve judgment for my sin. But I turn away from my sinfulness and turn to Jesus. I believe He died for me and rose again for me. I now place my trust in His finished work. Thank You for saving me. In Jesus’ name, amen.
