A FELLOWSHIP OF BELIEVERS IN THE LORDSHIP OF JESUS CHRIST.

Our supreme desire is to know Christ and be conformed to His image by the power of the Holy Spirit. We are not a denominational church, nor are we opposed to denominations, only to the over-emphasis of doctrinal differences that have divided the Body of Christ.

OUR VISION

GROW
We are called to mature in our relationship with God (Hebrews 6:1-2). The word of God is our growth catalyst. It is how we build ourselves up. We teach people the Word of God in our services, connect groups, etc. so they can be equipped for the work of the ministry!
GO
We are called to the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20), to GO into all the world and make disciples. That means we are called to share the Gospel with lost people. Jesus came for the sick so that they could be made well.
GIVE
We are called to offer up our time, talents and finances for kingdom work as our worship to God. It’s our reasonable service (Heb 12:2). God doesn’t want us to do this flippantly or under compulsion, but cheerfully (2 Cor 9:6).

    GLORIFICATION

    We commit to making the glorification of the Lord our chief end. We commit to doing whatever it takes, for however long it takes, to ensure Jesus gets the maximum glory from our lives.

    IDENTIFICATION

    We commit to finding our personal identity in Christ and not in a title, whether it be in the world or the church.

    MAGNIFICATION

    We commit to using our gifts and talents from the Lord for magnifying our King, Jesus! Each of us have been given gifts from the Holy Spirit for the purpose of magnifying the presence of God in our midst.

    MULTIPLICATION

    We commit to making disciples for Jesus in and outside of the church walls. Telling others about the love of Jesus is a privilege not a chore.

    RECONCILIATION

    We commit to reconciling with one another in accordance with the words of Jesus. We have been given the ministry of reconciliation, and we commit to operating in a spirit of reconciliation towards each other.

    We commit to growing spiritually in the grace and knowledge of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

OUR CHURCH PLANT

HOW GOD BUILT THIS HOUSE

2004

In 2004, Pastor Tim experienced a calling to ministry during his early morning Bible reading. Seeking guidance, he embarked on an intensive discipleship program for pastoral ministry, culminating in his ordination by Pastor Don Haskins in 2007.

2007

In the summer of 2007, Tim, Sonja, and their four children - Crue, Silas, Zoie, and Jude - relocated to Columbia, Tennessee. During this move, it became evident that God was calling them to establish a Calvary Chapel in the area.

2009

Calvary Chapel of Columbia was founded in 2009, with its first Saturday night service held in the home of Pastor Tim and Sonja Romero.

2010

In 2010, the church transitioned to the YMCA, continuing with Saturday night services.

2012

By 2012, God opened the doors for the church to move to a prominent location at 1028 Nashville Highway, situated at Columbia’s busiest intersection.

2016

In 2016, the church expanded its facilities, including the opening of a coffee shop, The Overflowing Cup, intended as a community outreach initiative. After much prayer and discussions with the board of directors and church elders, the coffee shop was closed to create space for Calvary Chapel Christian School (CCCS).

TODAY

Currently, the church is undergoing a parking lot remodel while awaiting architectural plans to build a new sanctuary and, if finances permit, additional classrooms for our Children’s Ministry and educational program (CCCS).

OUR MEMBERSHIP

In alignment with the practices of many Calvary Chapels, Calvary Chapel Columbia does not maintain a formal church membership program. We believe that all who are part of the body of Christ are inherently members of His Church. Those who regularly attend and actively serve at CCC are considered members of our local church family.

THE MOVEMENT

The Calvary Chapel movement is a non-denominational movement that emerged in the 1960s during the cultural revolution in the United States. It began in Southern California under the leadership of Chuck Smith, a pastor who sought to reach disillusioned youth and countercultural communities. Today, there are hundreds of Calvary Chapel churches worldwide.
