WHAT WE HOLD TO

STATEMENT OF FAITH

We believe in all the basic doctrines of historic Christianity. Calvary Chapel has been formed as a fellowship of believers in the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

  1. THE SCRIPTURES

    We believe in the inerrancy of Scripture, that the Bible, Old and New Testaments, is the inspired, infallible Word of God. (2 Tim. 3:15-17; 2 Peter 1:21)

  2. THE TRINITY

    We believe God is eternally existent in three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Gen. 1:1; Deut. 6:4; Matt. 28:19; John 10:30)

  3. GOD THE CREATOR

    We believe God is the personal, transcendent, and sovereign Creator of all things. (Gen. 1:1; Col. 1:15-17)

  4. JESUS CHRIST

    Fully God and fully human, born of a virgin, sinless in life, atoning for our sins by His substitutionary death on the cross, bodily raised, ascended, ever interceding for us. (John 10:33; Heb. 4:15; 1 Cor. 15:3-4)

  5. THE SECOND COMING

    We believe in the personal, visible, pre-millennial return of Jesus Christ, and the Pre-Tribulation Rapture of the Church. (Acts 1:11; Rev. 19:11-16; 1 Thess. 4:13-16)

  6. THE HOLY SPIRIT

    Poured out on believers to empower the preaching of the Gospel to the entire world, an obligation shared by all believers today. (Acts 2; Matt. 28:18-20)

  7. CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP

    The only true basis of Christian fellowship is Christ’s Agape love, which is greater than any differences we possess.

  8. WORSHIP

    Worship of God should be spiritual, inspirational, intelligent, and fruitful, led by the Holy Spirit, with great place given to music and the teaching of the Word.
