DAY 7 - SALVATION
“37 Now when they heard this they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?” 38 And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself.”
– Acts 2:37-39 –
The center of the heart of every believer should be the burden for unbelievers. The mission of Christ was to seek and save that which was lost. He didn’t come for those who were well but for the sick, thus His followers ought to be on the same rescue mission seeking out the lost that they might come to Christ and be saved from the fire of Hell and condemned for all of eternity. Thankfully, Peter and the rest of the disciples were on mission, and, as a result, you and I enjoy the freedom and assurance that only the Gospel can bring.
Ask God to put a burning in your heart similar to that of Jeremiah (Jer. 20:9) and give you the understanding of the Apostle Paul who said in 1 Corinthians 9:16, “16 For if I preach the gospel, that gives me no ground for boasting. For necessity is laid upon me. Woe to me if I do not preach the gospel!” What is stopping you from preaching the Gospel? Is it fear of man? Are you willing to trade eternal kinship for temporary friendship? We are stewards of the Gospel; may we understand that our sole mission is to know Christ, so that we can make Him known. Be the light you were saved to be and pray for your loved ones, and
those around you, that God will cut them to the heart with the Gospel that they might repent and be saved.
“What I would say is Jesus came to save lost sinners like you and me, and if Jesus Christ has a burning desire to seek and save the lost, then you should, too, if Christ is living within you.”
