Ecclesiastes 3:10-11

Ecclesiastes 3:10-11 (ESV): “10 I have seen the business that God has given to the children of man to be busy with. 11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, he has put eternity into man’s heart, yet so that he cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end.”

God made us for eternity with Him. We were also created to accomplish His purposes. While we may never fully comprehend His work or His ways, we are still called to walk according to His plan and fulfill the good works He prepared in advance for us to do (Eph. 2:10).

After reflecting on his own labor and the seeming futility of life when lived only for achievements, Solomon turned his thoughts toward the Creator—His will and His works. One thing we must be careful of is letting what we don’t understand about God keep us from obeying what we do understand.

Have you ever felt a longing for something beyond this life? That’s because God placed eternity in your heart. He wants you to look beyond yourself and this world—that’s where you begin to find Him. He is knowable and reveals Himself to those who earnestly seek Him. Don’t let what you don’t know keep you from acting on what you do know: God loves you, He sent His Son for you, and if you embrace that truth, He will reveal even more. So, even when life feels uncertain or mysterious, keep walking by faith. God has planted eternity in your heart for a reason—so you would seek Him, find Him, and walk with Him forever. Amen?

Father, all praise, glory, and honor belong to You. You alone are worthy of a lifelong pursuit. Help us with our doubts and hangups, Lord, but give us faith to keep moving forward in You. In Jesus’ name, amen.
