Ezekiel 33:11

Ezekiel 33:11 (ESV): “Say to them, As I live, declares the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live; turn back, turn back from your evil ways, for why will you die, O house of Israel?

Everyone has a choice regarding where they will spend eternity.  God desires that the wicked would turn away from their sin and live!  He finds no pleasure in the death of those who are destined for Hell.

The Lord spoke to Ezekiel about His just judgement.  He said that He would condemn the righteous if they turned from their righteousness and save the wicked if their turn from their wickedness.  The people thought this to be unfair.  The Lord makes it clear that each person will give an account for their whole life.  That’s why He pleads for the wicked to turn and live.   He desires that no one would live eternally under condemnation but that they would from wickedness and reside in His presence for all eternity!

Do you know Jesus today?  More importantly, does Jesus know you?  The righteousness we need is imputed, that is, it is attributed to you by belief in the death and resurrection of Jesus. No one unrighteous will inherit the kingdom of God and that saddens God.  He desires that people would choose to live by placing their faith in Jesus.  It is the only way to become righteous in God’s eyes.  Don’t depend on yourself to get to heaven.  Look to Jesus today.  That is what it means to turn and live.  Amen?

Father,  we thanK You for making a way for us through Your Son.  Jesus alone is righteousness and we trust in Him alone unto salvation.  Save those who are yet to come to Christ Lord and sanctify those who have.   To You be the glory forever and ever, we pray in Jesus name, amen.
