Ezra 7:1;6 (ESV): “Now after this, in the reign of Artaxerxes king of Persia, Ezra…went up from Babylonia. He was a scribe skilled in the Law of Moses that the Lord, the God of Israel, had given, and the king granted him all that he asked, for the hand of the Lord his God was on him.”
The prophetic Word of God always comes to pass, no matter how impossible it might seem. Trust His Word and watch Him work!
In Daniel 9:25, the Lord declared,
“…that from the going out of the word to restore and build Jerusalem to the coming of an anointed one, a prince, there shall be seven weeks.” The decree to restore and rebuild the Temple was given by King Darius in 520 BC. The decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem was given by Artaxerxes in 458 BC. This decree was the fulfillment of Daniel 9:25, which was given to Ezra in the passage above. Ezra would lead a remnant back to Jerusalem and fulfill the prophetic Word of God just as God said would happen! He even sent Ezra with a letter of authority. How amazing is God!
Have you ever heard someone respond to the prophecy of the return of Christ by saying, “People have been saying that for a long time”? That is a statement of unbelief! Jesus is coming! How do we know? Because the prophetic Word of God says so! Don’t doubt the Lord. Jesus is coming soon. Maranatha. Be ready and willing to be used by God, just as Ezra was in the meantime. Amen?
Father, we thank You for giving us Your Word. May we never doubt it, even if we can’t see how it will come to pass. Fill us with faith and strength to occupy until You come. In Jesus’ name, amen!
