Isaiah 11:11-12

Isaiah 11:11-12 (ESV):  “11 In that day the Lord will extend his hand yet a second time to recover the remnant that remains of his people, from Assyria, from Egypt, from Pathros, from Cush, from Elam, from Shinar, from Hamath, and from the coastlands of the sea. 12  He will raise a signal for the nations

and will assemble the banished of Israel,

and gather the dispersed of Judah

from the four corners of the earth.”

On May 14th, 1948, Israel was declared a nation once again. It had been a people without a land for nearly 2,000 years. This regathering was prophesied nearly 2,700 years before it happened. God keeps His promises!

Isaiah prophesied both the dispersion of Israel and her regathering through the hand of the Messiah. It would be by His doing that the nation would be brought back together. While this will ultimately be fulfilled at the Second Advent of Christ, a partial fulfillment occurred with the reestablishment of the modern state of Israel. There was a miraculous regathering of the people during that time. Israel is the prophetic sign to the world that God keeps His promises!

Do you believe that all of God’s promises will come to pass—not just for others, but for you personally? God has demonstrated from the beginning of time that He does what He says, not because we are worthy, but because He is faithful. May you find rest in Jesus, through whom all of God’s promises find their Yes and Amen!

Father, You are amazing. You do what You say, and You keep Your promises. May we walk by a faith that believes without doubt, and may we encourage others to do the same. In Jesus’ name, amen.
