Isaiah 25:8

Isaiah 25:8 (ESV): “He will swallow up death forever; and the Lord God will wipe away tears from all faces, and the reproach of his people he will take away from all the earth, for the Lord has spoken.

One day soon, death and Hades will be swallowed up. There will be no more tears, no more pain, no more sorrow, sin, or shame! Its called heaven for that reason.  Jesus will return soon and bring with Him an eternal state that will knock your socks off. Maranatha!

In Isaiah 24, the prophet speaks of the wrath of God being poured out, ultimately during the seven-year Tribulation Period. At the end of that time, Jesus—the Messiah and our King—will return and bring His Kingdom with Him. He will reign on the earth for 1,000 years, and at the end of that reign, He will judge every fallen angel and unbeliever, casting them into the Lake of Fire. Then He will create a new heavens and a new earth, along with the New Jerusalem. This is heaven—where there is no more death, and every tear will be wiped away (Rev. 21:4). That Kingdom is coming soon.

What hope do you hold on to in the midst of difficult seasons? Death and disease are painful, but they are temporary! A day is coming when all who believe in and receive Jesus will dwell in the blessed state of perfection. Death and sin will be forever swallowed up. Jesus will wipe away every tear from your eyes, and you will be with Him in heaven forever. He is our hope of glory! So remember—this too shall pass. Eternity is coming. Hold on to that hope in hard times. Amen?

Father, we can’t wait to be with You forever in heaven. Until then, may that hope carry us through our pain and difficulties. Help us to remember that eternity is just around the corner. To You be the glory, we pray in Jesus’ name. Amen
