Isaiah 43:1-2 (ESV): “But now thus says the Lord, he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine.”
You’ve heard it said, “You’re in good hands with Allstate!” But this slogan truly belongs to Almighty God. Allstate has its limitations—but with God, nothing is impossible. Put your hope in Him, not in human hands. He will see you through!
Isaiah reminds the people of Israel that although Babylon is coming and they will be taken into captivity, they are still in God’s capable hands. He is their Creator and Redeemer. He will not allow them to be wiped out. Even as He chastens them, He will preserve and protect them. They have nothing to fear, for in God’s eyes, their deliverance is already accomplished. It’s past tense to Him. He has gone before them, making a way and calling each one by name. They are His. What a wonderful promise to a wayward people!
Whose hands are you being held by today? Are you trusting in the hands of man—or the hands of God? He is your Creator. He formed you in your mother’s womb. He knows exactly what you need. Your circumstances are in His hands because you are in His hands. Fear not—He has already delivered you. All you need to do is turn and trust in Him. He’s got you. You’re truly in good hands—with God.
Father, we thank You for protecting and watching over us. Your grip is mighty and secure. Help us to sense Your presence in our trials and to know that You have made a way. We pray this in Jesus’ name, amen.
