Isaiah 53:5

Isaiah 53:5 (ESV): “But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace,and with his wounds we are healed.”

Imagine someone paying off your past, present, and future debts. That is what Jesus has done for you concerning your sin. You are forever forgiven in Him. By His stripes, we are healed!

Isaiah 53 is one of the most descriptive passages in Scripture regarding the incarnation of Christ and His mission. Isaiah prophesies of the substitutionary atonement of Christ—that God came in the likeness of man. He had no form or majesty, no beauty that we should desire Him. He bore our sorrow and shame so we could bear His righteousness. It was His perfect life, sacrificial death, and glorious resurrection that afford us forgiveness, peace, and total healing for all time. What a Savior!

Have you experienced the healing power of our great Savior? It is by grace through faith in Him that we experience forgiveness and peace. When we make Him Lord, He immediately wipes our debts clean—forever. If you need to experience this healing, come to Jesus. If you already have, then rest in His stripes. He has taken your place. Give Him praise today and be grateful! No greater love has anyone than this. Praise God for His only begotten Son!

Father, what love is this—that You have given us Your only begotten Son to be our substitute, to pay the price for our sins. We receive His healing by faith.  Praise You for reasoning with us through the giving of Your Son. Glory and honor to You alone, in Jesus’ name, amen.
