Job 42:10 (ESV): “And the Lord restored the fortunes of Job, when he had prayed for his friends. And the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.”
God is the restorer of the destitute. He turns their mourning into dancing and their tears into laughter. He will restore all who put their trust in Him.
After God spoke to Job and his friends, they all repented for how they had responded to Job’s trial. Each of them, in different ways, had misrepresented God. He reminded them that He is sovereign and in control of all things. He allows and orchestrates the events in our lives for our good and His glory. He also demonstrated His great ministry to Job by restoring his fortunes.
Have you experienced the restorative work of God in your life? If you’re saved, you have! God restored you to a right relationship with Him. You are now an heir to the kingdom of God. Perhaps He has restored you in other ways. This is God’s heart for us. If you are experiencing hardship, know that God is using it in your life. He restores in accordance with His plan. It may be in this life or the next, but what we know for sure is that God rewards those who diligently seek Him. Amen?
Father, we thank You for giving us hope beyond our circumstances. There is nothing You can’t restore in our lives. May we keep our eyes on You and maintain expectations in our hearts for Your restoration, as only You can provide. We pray in Jesus’ name, Amen.
