Judges 1:3 (ESV): “3 And Judah said to Simeon his brother, “Come up with me into the territory allotted to me, that we may fight against the Canaanites. And I likewise will go with you into the territory allotted to you.” So Simeon went with him.”
You’re not alone in your battles. The Lord has put brothers and sisters in your life to go with you. He fights the battle while giving us support from the body of Christ. Never neglect the gift of the body of Christ. It is God’s means of encouragement and support!
After Joshua died, there was no leader in Israel. The nation was to rely on God to direct their steps. Although their enemies had been defeated and the land allotted they must now take possession of it. The Lord called the tribe of Judah to go first. They were the strongest army among the twelve tribes. Judah asked Simeon to join them and in return for their support Judah would also join them in possessing their land.
What land has God asked you to take possession of? You don't have to do it alone. The Lord has put people in your life to walk with you in His will. Don't go it alone. Ask for someone to join you in your quest for Him. As Solomon said, two is better than one. If you aren't connected within the body of Christ then you are missing out on a huge source of encouragement and support. Put yourself out there and make some new friends. They are meant to be your battle buddies! Thank You Lord for giving us such a wonderful gift in the body of Christ.
Father, we thank You for all that You do to set us up to win. You’ve put an incredible network of people together for us to do life together with. May we not neglect what You’ve given us we pray in Jesus' name, amen.
