Matthew 11:21-24

Matthew 11:21-24 (ESV): “21 Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.  22 But I tell you, it will be more bearable on the day of judgment for Tyre and Sidon than for you. 23 And you, Capernaum, will you be exalted to heaven? You will be brought down to Hades. For if the mighty works done in you had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day. 24 But I tell you that it will be more tolerable on the day of judgment for the land of Sodom than for you.”

The judgment that falls upon nations for mismanaging their spiritual blessings is not something to take lightly. Spiritual neglected will eventually result in divine judgment.

Jesus said that Chorazin, Bethsaida, and Capernaum were destined for tremendous judgment because of the mighty works the Messiah had done in their midst. The people, for the most part, rejected Jesus, and thus great judgment would come upon them. All three cities lie in ruins today as a result. Think about that!

What spiritual blessings has God bestowed upon our country? America was once termed “one nation under God.” However, those blessings are being stewarded poorly. America is destined for the same judgment because her people are not taking these spiritual blessings seriously. It is up to every individual to repent and return to the Lord. He will preserve a nation if there is a remnant serving Him. Be that remnant! Amen?

Father, forgive us for abusing the spiritual blessings we have been given. You have entrusted us with much, and we have squandered it. We repent and return to You today. Restore virtue in our land and be our God, we pray, in Jesus’ name, amen.
