Matthew 2:22-23

Matthew 2:22-23 (ESV):22 But when he heard that Archelaus was reigning over Judea in place of his father Herod, he was afraid to go there, and being warned in a dream he withdrew to the district of Galilee. 23 And he went and lived in a city called Nazareth, so that what was spoken by the prophets might be fulfilled, that he would be called a Nazarene.”

The perfect plan of God for every individual is undeniable. No scheme of hell can thwart it. The only thing that can hinder His plan is your unwillingness to participate. Be obedient and watch Him work everything out according to His perfect will.

After an estimated three to three and a half years in Egypt, Joseph was visited by an angel of the Lord in a dream and was instructed to take Mary and Jesus back to Israel, for Herod the Great had died. When Joseph heard that Archelaus was ruling over Judea, he diverted to Galilee, and they resided in Nazareth so that what was spoken by the prophets would be fulfilled. In other words, everything was done according to plan.

Have you ever wondered about the plan of God for your life? You might not want to hear this right now, but you are exactly where you are supposed to be if you are walking in obedience to the Lord. Sometimes that means being in places we don’t want to be. But know this: it is all in alignment with His plan. Rejoice where you are and let God work His magnificent purpose in your life. Amen?

Father, You are sovereign over all. Even in our disobedience, You are still able to accomplish Your plan. We surrender to Your will. Have Your way in us, we pray, in Jesus’ name, amen.
