1 Chronicles 28:9 (ESV): the God of your father and serve him with a whole heart and with a willing mind, for the Lord searches all hearts and understands every plan and thought. If you seek him, he will be found by you, but if you forsake him, he will cast you off forever.
“All in.” It’s a phrase that must describe our relationship with God. He will not accept anything less. Turn your whole heart to God and do His will. He deserves nothing less.
After David organized the Levites with their duties in the soon-to-be-built Temple, He anointed Solomon King over Israel and charged him to follow God wholeheartedly and with a willing mind. He also reminded Solomon that God had chosen him to build the Temple, so he should, “Be strong and do it.” David then gave Solomon the plans for the Temple. The baton has been passed. It was now up to Solomon to complete David’s vision. He could only do that if he was “all in.”
Are you “all in” for God? Your daily life tells the true story. Are you wholeheartedly seeking God with a willing mind? Are you willing to do whatever he calls you to do at all costs? If not, then you are not “all in.” Jesus didn’t live half-heartedly for you. He was “all in” to the point of death. He is our example. Follow Christ and walk in the Spirit and you too will be “all in.” Amen?
Father, forgive our shortcomings and help us to forsake all to follow you. Put in our hearts a burning desire to love solely for you. Remove our wants and needs and replace them with Yours we pray in Jesus' name, amen.
