1 Kings 4:29-30

1 Kings 4:29–30 (ESV): 29 And God gave Solomon wisdom and understanding beyond measure, and breadth of mind like the sand on the seashore, 30 so that Solomon’s wisdom surpassed the wisdom of all the people of the east and all the wisdom of Egypt.

Gifting is different than natural ability. All it comes from God but gifting is given supernaturally through the Spirit of God.  Our spiritual gifts are to be used to bless others and bring glory to God.

The Lord appeared to Solomon at Gibeon and said, “Ask what I shall give you (1 Kg 3:5).” Solomon replied, “Give your servant therefore an understanding mind to govern your people, that I may discern between good and evil, for who is able to govern this your great people (1 Kg 3:9).”  God was pleased by Solomons answer and gifted him with discernment and riches.  Solomon used his gift to rule the people and they were blessed.

What gift has God given you?  Natural abilities are great, and God can use them, but what gift specifically have you been given by the Holy Spirit to bless the people of God with?   You can find a list in Romans 12:3-8 and 1 Corinthians 12:1-11.  Recognize your gift and walk in it.   The Lord is looking for loyal hearts to show Himself strong.  Seek Him today and say, “Lord, use me.”

Father,  we thank You for gifting us with spiritual gifts.  We want to use them in ways to bless the body and bring glory to Your name.  We are available so have Your way we pray in Jesus' name, amen.
