1 Samuel 10:1 (ESV): Then Samuel took a flask of oil and poured it on his head and kissed him and said, “Has not the Lord anointed you to be prince over his people Israel?
God empowers those He commissions for ministry. He chooses, appoints, and anoints each of us for His purposes. We would do well to remember it is not by mighty, nor by power, but by the Spirit that we do the work He has put before us.
Israel desired a king. It was a slap in the face to God. He was to lead them, but they desired to be like the world that had a man ruling over them. The Lord gave Israel what they wanted in the man named Saul. He was appointed and anointed for the job. Although Saul was man’s desire, the Lord didn't set him up to fail but empowered him to step into this role. His failure would come as a result of not residing in his anointing.
Did you know God has chosen, appointed, and anointed you as well? He has set you up to win in your respective ministry. The only way you can fail is to step out of His anointing and begin operating in the flesh. He wants to use us in incredible ways but we must walk in the empowerment given and not try to do ministry on our own. Be faithful to complete the tasks that the Lord has given you and walk in His anointing. It is the only way to stay true to Him! Amen?
Father, we thank You for choosing us to be Your representation in these last days. Help us to remain under your anointing and to stay faithful to the call we pray in Jesus' name, amen.
