Isaiah 12:2 (ESV): ““Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and will not be afraid; for the Lord God is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation.”
Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life! Only He can save. Those who trust in Him can be assured of their salvation, for He holds us in His hand, and not one will be taken from Him (Jn 10:28). What a Savior we have in Him!
Isaiah begins to speak of the reign of Christ over all the earth and the salvation found in Him. Every heart in His presence will rejoice with eternal gladness, for He is our salvation—it is not something we have earned. Joyful praise will flow from the lips of those who are held by Him. Trust and peace dwell in the one who knows that salvation is the work of God alone.
Are you saved? Then you have every reason to praise God! Not only has He given you salvation, but He also sustains it. We can do nothing to earn it, and therefore, we can do nothing to lose it. All who are in Christ are kept by Him (Jn 17:12). He will not lose one of those the Father has given Him. If you are truly in Christ, you are secure in Him—so give Him some praise! And if you are not yet in Christ, surrender to Him today. He will give you the peace and security your soul longs for. Amen?
Father, we thank You that salvation is Your work alone. We can do nothing except come when drawn, and believe and receive the finished work of Jesus. Help us to sense Your grip on our lives today and to rest in You. We pray this in Jesus’ name, amen.
