2 Chronicles 16:9-10

2 Chronicles 16:9–10 (ESV): 9 For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to give strong support to those whose heart is blameless toward him. You have done foolishly in this, for from now on you will have wars.” 10 Then Asa was angry with the seer and put him in the stocks in prison, for he was in a rage with him because of this. And Asa inflicted cruelties upon some of the people at the same time.

It's not how you start the race that matters but how you finish.  Stay true to God and you will finish well.

King Asa was blessed with peace because he followed the Lord wholeheartedly.   However, when Baasha king of Israel came against him, Asa sought the help of Ben-hadad king of Syria, rather than the Lord.  Because of this, Hanani, the seer of Asa, told him that the Lord would bring war to Judah.   Asa responded by throwing Hanani into prison.  He also became angry with others in Judah and inflicted cruelties upon them.  Asa then got a foot disease, but he would not seek God for help.  He sought physicians instead.  Asa died after forty-one years of reigning as king of Judah.  He did not finish well.

What stage of the race are you in?  How are you running?  The eyes of the Lord go to and fro looking for loyal hearts to show Himself strong.  Don't falter in the final leg of your race.   Remain faithful to God and trust in Him.  He will bless those who diligently seek Him all the days of their life. Finish well, amen?

Father, we thank You for being faithful to us to the end.  Help us to remain faithful to You that we might finish well we pray in Jesus' name, amen.
