2 Chronicles 17:3–4 (ESV): “3 The Lord was with Jehoshaphat, because he walked in the earlier ways of his father David. He did not seek the Baals, 4 but sought the God of his father and walked in his commandments, and not according to the practices of Israel.”
Going against the grain is rough but necessary. Friction creates heat, but it also sharpens! Don't go the way of man, but rather walk in God’s ways, and He will use you mightily.
After Asa died, his son Jehosaphat took the reigns. He walked in the early days of David. He didn't worship idols like all of Israel but forsook the Baals and sought the God of Israel. Thus, the Lord established his kingdom. He led courageously in the ways of the Lord, tearing down the high places. The fear of the Lord fell on all the surrounding nations, as the Book of the Law was taught in all of Judah. God established Jehosaphats throne because he disrupted the evil culture.
Are you walking against the current of this culture? By remaining silent you are going with the flow. The world needs a disrupter, and God has put His church to be just that. We are to abhor evil and courageously tear down the high places in our culture. You can’t afford to go with the flow, my friend. It's time to rise and stand for Christ. Who cares if you get canceled in this life? You're supposed to be living for eternity. Let's go, Church. Wake up and start walking in the ways of the Lord. Amen?
Father, forgive us for our complacency. Use Your Church to disrupt the plans of the enemy. Help us to speak the truth in love, and rightly represent You, we pray in Jesus' name, amen.
