2 Kings 4:3-4

2 Kings 4:3–4 (ESV): 3 Then he said, “Go outside, borrow vessels from all your neighbors, empty vessels and not too few. 4 Then go in and shut the door behind yourself and your sons and pour into all these vessels. And when one is full, set it aside.”

God is Jehovah Jireh, our provider.  He will supply our needs per His plan.  Rest in the Lord, He’s got you!

After Israel and Judah went up against Moab, Elisha was met by a woman who lost her husband.   Her husband had died and she became indebted to the point she had to declare bankruptcy.  According to the law, her creditor was able to take her children as slaves until the debt was paid.   She pleaded with Elisha to help her pay the debt.  He instructed her to gather as many vessels as she could and the Lord would fill every one of them with oil.  Elisha then told her to sell the oil and go pay her debt.  God provided for her!

What is it that you need today?  Are you trusting in yourself to provide, or are you looking to Jehovah Jireh?   He is faithful to give us what we need.  Not what we want, but what we need.   Be like this woman and walk by faith.  Seek the Lord and ask Him to provide as only He can, then do exactly what He tells you to do!  Amen?

Father,  we thank You for being our provider.  We ask that You move in mighty ways to provide for our needs.  We trust You to direct our steps, in Jesus' name, amen and amen!
