2 Samuel 7:8 (ESV): “8 Now, therefore, thus you shall say to my servant David, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts, I took you from the pasture, from following the sheep, that you should be prince over my people Israel.”
The Lord takes nobodies and makes them somebodies for the glory of His name. If He can transform a shepherd boy into a king, what can He do with you? Yield your life to Him and watch what He can make of it.
After bringing the Ark of God to the city of David, the king decided to build God a house. The Lord spoke through the prophet Nathan reminding David of all that He had done in his life and that He would establish his house and throne forever. This is known as the Davidic Covenant, “He shall build a house for my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever (vs 13).” David had come a long way from his shepherding days. This is what God can do to someone who has yielded to Him.
Have you made yourself available to God? He is searching for hearts that are loyal to Him so He can use them. Don’t think too little or too great of yourself. God can take anyone and use them mightily. It’s not what you have to offer Him but what He has to offer you. Surrender yourself to Him and watch and see what He can do with your life. He is great and He can do great things through those who are surrendered to Him. Amen?
Father, we thank You for the high calling on the lives of those who belong to You. Use us, Lord! We are available and desire to bring glory to Your name. So have Your way we pray in Jesus' name, amen.
