DAY 8 - VISION
“2 And the LORD answered me: “Write the vision; make it plain on tablets, so he may run who reads it. 3 For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end—it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay.”
– Habakkuk 2:2-3 –
The current vision for Calvary Chapel is to GROW | GO | GIVE. We must GROW in the grace and the knowledge of Jesus in order to GO and GIVE. We can’t offer up something that we don’t know about or understand. We are given knowledge, not for personal benefit, but for the purpose of sharing with others. As we GROW there should be a natural tendency to GO and take the Word of God into the world and speak it with love, compassion, and authority. There is a harvest waiting to be reaped but the labors are few. Lastly, as we GROW, we will also naturally want to GIVE of our time, talents, and financial resources. God has given us stewardship over all that we have; it’s all His, so that we can be a blessing to others. GROW | GO | GIVE!
Pray for God to move in the heart of every believer that calls Calvary home, so they would catch the vision and join in the pursuit of making Jesus famous in our city. Pray for the Holy Spirit to anoint each teaching in the sanctuary, children’s ministry, youth gathering, as well as home fellowships and Bible studies, that those in attendance would GROW. Then ask that God would move us to GO as a body and reach the lost in our Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and to the ends of the earth. Finally, that every person would GIVE with their time and talents in serving our body in some ministry. Pray that we would be overwhelmed with the desire to serve! Also, pray for financial provisions that God would stir His body to GIVE financially to support the mission and vision of our church.
“The only way the corporate Body of Christ will fulfill the mission Christ has given it is for individual Christians to have a vision for fulfilling that mission personally.”
