Deuteronomy 10:14-16

Deuteronomy 10:14–16 (ESV): “14 Behold, to the Lord your God belong heaven and the heaven of heavens, the earth with all that is in it. 15 Yet the Lord set his heart in love on your fathers and chose their offspring after them, you above all peoples, as you are this day. 16 Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no longer stubborn.”

Out of all the people God could choose to love, He loves you. Think about that. The Lord of heaven and earth is in love with you. Choose to love Him back by circumcising your heart and keeping it soft before Him.

Moses said in Deuteronomy 10:12–13 (ESV): “12 And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you, but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, 13 and to keep the commandments and statutes of the Lord, which I am commanding you today for your good?” His love for us demands this. To accomplish this we must keep our hearts soft by staying humble and obedient!

What is the condition of your heart today? To love God as we ought, we must cut the flesh away from our hearts. Don't let your heart get hardened by the trials of this life. Keep cutting away the flesh. Remind yourself of the great love God has for you. It's the love of Christ that constrains us (2 Cor 5:14). When our hearts are soft we will fear, serve, love, and walk obediently toward God. Our heart is the key. Keep it with all diligence (Prov 4:23) and you will do well.

Father, we love You because You first loved us. Help us to cut the flesh away from our hearts so that we can walk in Your requirements we pray in Jesus' name, amen.
