Exodus 34:29–30 (ESV): “29 When Moses came down from Mount Sinai, with the two tablets of the testimony in his hand as he came down from the mountain, Moses did not know that the skin of his face shone because he had been talking with God. 30 Aaron and all the people of Israel saw Moses, and behold, the skin of his face shone, and they were afraid to come near him.”
Spending time with God affects our outward appearance. We glow after ascending from His throne room. It speaks of the transforming power of God in the life of a person surrendered to Him.
Moses was instructed by God to write down specific commandments relating to the covenant that He was making with the nation of Israel. He would go before them and remove their adversaries from the land. The people were not to coexist with them lest they be swayed into worshipping their gods. Israel was to be separate from the world. Every male was to visit Jerusalem three times per year to celebrate Passover, Pentecost, and the Feast of Booths. Moses wrote this all down over forty days and nights in the presence of God. He descended Sinai with his face glowing and the people were afraid.
Did you know the world is afraid of those who have been with Jesus? It's because He transforms our lives to such a degree that people take notice. The more time you spend with Him the more noticeable your glow will become. Get in His presence as much as possible and follow His commands. This will not only rock you in a good way but those around you. Shine Jesus shine, fill this land with the Father’s glory!
Father, we praise You for the great work You have done through the covenant You made with us through Your Son. May we shine brightly for Your glory and spend as much time as we can basking in the Son we pray in Jesus' name, Amen.
