Isaiah 2:4 (ESV): “He shall judge between the nations, and shall decide disputes for many peoples; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore.”
The world as we know it is upside down. It isn’t as it should be—but one day soon, Jesus will return and rule and reign from His earthly throne in Jerusalem. Then, and only then, will the world be turned right side up.
God used Isaiah in a powerful way to prophesy about the coming Messiah. Of the approximately 330 Messianic prophecies in the Old Testament, a large portion are found in the book of Isaiah. Here, Isaiah prophesies about the Millennial Reign of Christ. After the seven-year Tribulation period, Jesus will return to rule on a literal throne in Jerusalem for 1,000 years. There will be global peace. It won’t be heaven just yet—but the world will finally be flipped right side up.
Are you tired of the struggle of life? Are you growing weary of wars, division, and disunity? If you are in Christ, better days are coming! One day soon, Jesus will crack the sky and come riding on a white horse (Revelation 19:11). His Church will be coming with Him to rule and reign on this earth for 1,000 years (Revelation 20:4). There will be peace as Jesus rules with a rod of iron. So don’t grow weary, Christian. Set your mind on things above and live expectantly for His soon return. Maranatha!
Father, we thank You for giving us hope in all things through Your Son. We believe in His soon return. Keep us focused on spreading the good news about the coming King and His Kingdom. May the blessed hope of His soon appearing keep us in perfect peace. We pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen.
