Isaiah 54:17

Isaiah 54:17 (ESV): “…no weapon that is fashioned against you shall succeed,and you shall refute every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord and their vindication from me, declares the Lord.”

Contrary to popular belief, God allows weapons to be formed against His people, but He does not allow them to prosper. He uses the enemy’s antics to accomplish His purposes. In Him, we are never in a place of weakness!

Isaiah proclaims a mighty truth to those about to be taken captive into Babylon: although the enemy will overtake them, they will not be put to shame. God will use this ploy to draw the hearts of men back to Himself. The enemy may fashion a weapon to destroy, but God is using it to refine. He promises that no weapon or word that comes against His people shall destroy them. This is the heritage of those in the family of God. He is in control!

Do you feel like you’re at the mercy of the enemy? Know this: no weapon he fashions can prosper against you. Every accusation that is spoken will be refuted by Christ. Victory is promised to those who are in Him. He is enough for us. Don’t look within to overcome—look up! Your redemption draws near. He will not allow the enemy to put you to shame. While the enemy seeks to destroy you, God is using the same fire to refine you. God always wins. Put your trust in Him. Amen?

Father, thank You for being our protector and refiner. We want what You want for our lives, Lord. We trust You to disarm and refute every accusation of the enemy. Turn his efforts against him and prosper us in holiness, we pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.
