Isaiah 60:19

Isaiah 60:19 (ESV):  “The sun shall be no more your light by day, nor for brightness shall the moon give you light; but the Lord will be your everlasting light, and your God will be your glory.”

There’s coming a day when we won’t need the sun to rise or the moon to shine. God Himself will be our light—constant, unwavering, and eternal. Imagine that: no more nights filled with fear, no more days clouded by uncertainty. His presence will light everything.

Isaiah is pointing us forward to a time of complete restoration. For Israel, it was the promise that their days of gloom and judgment would be replaced with the brightness of God’s glory. And for us, it’s a powerful reminder that no earthly thing was ever meant to be our source of light.

Are you in a dark place right now? Has your “sun” set? Have the things you leaned on disappeared? Don’t panic. Maybe this is the moment God is turning your attention from fading light to the Everlasting One. When God is your light, you’re never truly in the dark. Bask in the rays of His goodness and grace, for this is just a taste of what those who are in Christ can expect. Amen?

Father, thank You that You are our everlasting light. Forgive us for looking to other things to brighten our lives. They always fail us, but You never do. Help us to live in the light of Your presence—today and forever. In Jesus’ name, amen.
