Matthew 10:5-7

Matthew 10:5-7 (ESV): These twelve Jesus sent out, instructing them, “Go nowhere among the Gentiles and enter no town of the Samaritans, but go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. And proclaim as you go, saying•, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’”

The disciples of Jesus aren’t supposed to create their own mission field; they are sent by God to a specific place for a specific reason. Everyone is sent—where has He sent you?

After calling Peter, Andrew, James, John, Philip, Bartholomew, Thomas, Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, Thaddaeus, Simon the Zealot, and Judas Iscariot, Jesus sent them out. They were not sent to the Gentiles or the Samaritans, but specifically to the house of Israel. Their message was simple: “The kingdom of heaven is at hand!” Jesus sent them to proclaim salvation to the Jew first. He would later send others to the Gentiles.

Who has Jesus sent you to? Yes, we are to go into all the world, but the Lord has placed you in a specific place to reach a specific people. Nothing is random. You are at your workplace, in your neighborhood, in your city because you have been sent there. That is why it is so important that we ask God before we decide to make changes to our situation. We are sent to proclaim that the King and His Kingdom are here and are coming. Be faithful and stay in your lane! Amen?

Father, we thank You for sending us into our respective worlds to reach the lost. Help us to stay the course and finish well. In Jesus’ name, amen.
