Matthew 9:28-29

Matthew 9:28-29 (ESV):28 When he entered •the house, the blind men came to him, and Jesus said to them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” They said to him, “Yes, Lord.” 29 Then he touched their eyes, saying, “According to your faith let it be done to you.””

Faith has always played a role in whether or not God moves miraculously. When it is coupled with the will of God, it becomes a setting in which miracles can occur.

While Jesus was being questioned by the Pharisees, Jairus came to Him and asked Him to heal his sick daughter. On His way, a woman who had been bleeding for twelve years touched the fringe of His robe and was healed. Then, when Jesus arrived at Jairus’s house, his daughter had died. Jesus removed all who doubted and raised her from the dead. As He was leaving, two blind men followed Him, crying out for healing. Jesus asked them if they believed He was able to restore their sight. They said, “Yes, Lord,” and He healed them. In each case, faith was present and aligned with the Father’s will.

What are you in need of today? James reminds us that we do not have because we do not ask, and that we sometimes ask with wrong motives. We must be willing to ask God for the impossible while believing by faith in His ability—all while surrendering to His will. That is how miracles happen: ask, believe, and trust in His will. Amen?

Father, we thank You that nothing is impossible for You. May we come boldly before Your throne, asking and believing for miracles, while submitting to Your will. Have Your way, we pray, in Jesus’ name, amen.
