Nehemiah 6:9 (ESV): “For they all wanted to frighten us, thinking, “Their hands will drop from the work, and it will not be done.” But now, O God, strengthen my hands.”
The enemy relies on fear tactics. He tries to create situations that ensnare us in fear so that we stop doing our Father’s will. Walk by faith, and you will overcome the enemy!
After Nehemiah became governor, Judah’s enemies—Sanballat, Tobiah, Geshem, and others—plotted to kill him. They accused Judah of rebelling against Persian rule by rebuilding its wall, even bribing prophets to make Nehemiah fearful. Despite these efforts to intimidate him, Nehemiah remained steadfast and completed the wall, causing the surrounding nations to fear Judah and recognize that God was with them.
What kinds of fear tactics does the enemy use to keep you from walking in God’s will? Do you respond with faith and overcome, or do you give in because you’re afraid? Choose faith over fear, friend. Ask the Lord to strengthen you in these times of testing. What the enemy intends for evil, God uses for good. If you have the Lord and are walking in His will, you have nothing to fear. Stay the course, and you will put the fear of God in the hearts of your enemies. You’ve got this because God has you! Amen?
Father, we thank You for walking with us in this life. Strengthen us to overcome the enemy’s tactics with faith, so that Satan and his followers might cower in fear. May Your will be done at all costs, we pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.
