Numbers 6:22–26 (ESV): “22 The Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 23 “Speak to Aaron and his sons, saying, Thus you shall bless the people of Israel: you shall say to them, 24 The Lord bless you and keep you; 25 the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; 26 the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.“
“God bless,” we say, and He does tremendously. His divine favor is present with us always. We need to be reminded daily of just how blessed we are!
The priests were the ambassadors of God. They needed to present an accurate picture of Him so the Lord instructed them to pronounce blessings upon the people. Thus, at the close of every morning service they would say: “The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.” God wanted them to leave reminded that they have His favor not because of who they are but because of who He is!
Did you know that God desires to bless you? He wants to remind you that you have His favor, not because you deserve it but because He is gracious to give it. It’s so easy to forget that we are blessed. Life might not always go as planned but know this, there is a blessing from above behind every door in life. Remind others as you have the opportunity that they are blessed by God. That they are secure in Christ and have His favor. That no matter what they face, God is with them and thus we can have peace. Go in the blessing of the Lord, friend, and be blessed!
Father, thank You for blessing us. May we remind ourselves daily that we have Your favor and may we walk in it we pray in Jesus' name, amen.
