Numbers 9:23 (ESV): “23 At the command of the Lord they camped, and at the command of the Lord they set out. They kept the charge of the Lord, at the command of the Lord by Moses.”
Walking by the leading of God is the key to life. He shows us when to stop and when to go, all according to His will. He knows all things, so it's to our advantage to walk in step with His leading.
The children of Israel were led by a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night. The Lord was visibly amongst them. He would also tell them when to stop and when to go by way of a cloud resting upon the Tabernacle. If the cloud was resting on the Tabernacle they were to remain in the area they were camping, but once it lifted they were to be on their way. It could be a day, a week, or a month before they would set out from camp. The Lord directed their steps and they were obedient to walk by His leading.
Did you know God leads us in similar ways? We are the Tabernacle of God and the Spirit is our cloud. All we have to do is walk in step with His leading and we will find ourselves right in the center of God’s will. The Spirit tells us when to stop and when to go. When to speak and when to remain silent. We can save ourselves a lot of trouble and heartache by walking according to His leading. The Spirit is our guide, seek His guidance and walk accordingly and you will find whether you should be stopping or going. Amen?
Father, we thank You for Your guidance in this life. We desire to walk in step with You. Lead us by the cloud of Your Spirit and help us to walk obediently we pray in Jesus' name, Amen.
