1 Chronicles 22:19

1 Chronicles 22:19 (ESV): “19 Now set your mind and heart to seek the Lord your God. Arise and build the sanctuary of the Lord God, so that the ark of the covenant of the Lord and the holy vessels of God may be brought into a house built for the name of the Lord.”

It’s true that unless the Lord builds the house, the workers labor in vain. The Lord is the master builder and architect, and we are His laborers.  Our job is to go into all the world and make disciples.   That is how God builds His House, the Church.  We have to go, and He will provide the opportunities.   Stay in your lane Christian, and be faithful.

After selecting the site for the Temple to be built, David provided materials in great quantity.  He then instructed Solomon to be faithful to God and to build His house.  He exhorted Solomon, “Be strong and courageous. Fear not; do not be dismayed.”  David also commanded all the leaders of Israel to help Solomon.   He exhorted them to set their minds and hearts on the Lord and arise and help Solomon build the Temple.  Everyone had a part to play, but God would ultimately be the master builder.

Did you know God is still building His house today?  All Christians are called to be laborers of this great endeavor.  No one is exempt from this call.  God will use some greater than others, but all Christians have a role to play.   Are you being faithful to the call, Christian?  Be exhorted as leaders of Israel were, “Set your mind and heart to seek the Lord your God. Arise and build the sanctuary of the Lord!”  Amen?

Father,  we thank You for using us in the building of Your House, the Church.  Strengthen us for the work before us and fill us with boldness we pray in Jesus' name, amen.
