2 Samuel 7:22 (ESV): “22 Therefore you are great, O Lord God. For there is none like you, and there is no God besides you, according to all that we have heard with our ears.”
God is great...yes, but far better than that. He is marvelous. There is no end to His goodness and splendor. None can compare to His likeness for He is holy, of a completely other. Meditate on these things!
After God had instituted the Davidic Covenant, David praised God. He said, “Who am I, O Lord God, and what is my house, that you have brought me thus far? And yet this was a small thing in your eyes, O Lord God.” David knew that nothing was too great for God for He is omnipotent (all-powerful). This thought launched David into a place of praise. David was blown away by the personhood of God.
When was the last time you’ve been blown away by the wonder of God? If you don't ever meditate on Him it will be few and far between. Make it a daily practice to begin your day with an intentional focus on the personhood of God. You will find He is far more majestic than you have realized. Focus on who He is first, and then what He has done. He is the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. None can compare to Him. Let your mind meditate on these things. Then praise Him for what He has done in your life. Amen?
Father, You are an amazing God. You stand alone in majesty and glory. You are perfect in all Your ways. Thank You for being who You are and for working in our lives. We love You, Lord, in Jesus name, amen.
