Ecclesiastes 4:9-10

Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 (ESV): “9 Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. 10 For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up!”

We are designed to be in relationship with God and one another. Life is full of stumbles, setbacks, and seasons of weariness, but we are not meant to face these alone. Two are better than one.

Solomon echoes God’s words after creating man: “It is not good that man should be alone” (Genesis 2:18). In his wisdom, Solomon declares that a unified team accomplishes far more than a single person. There is great reward for those who work together. When life gets tough, you have someone to encourage you and someone you can encourage in return. Solomon’s message is clear: we need each other.

Are you a solo Christian, pursuing the mission alone? Jesus sent His disciples out two by two for a reason. We need encouragement and accountability. Who are you allowing into your life, and whose life are you encouraging? We need each other. Stop trying to go it alone and walk in the way you were designed. Amen?

Father, we thank You for designing us for relationship. Draw us into the right relationships so we can be encouraged and encourage others. We pray in Jesus’ name, amen.
