Job 19:25-26

Job 19:25–26 (ESV): “For I know that my Redeemer lives, and at the last he will stand upon the earth. And after my skin has been thus destroyed, yet in my flesh I shall see God.”

Life can be incredibly difficult. However, for those who have trusted in Jesus, better days are ahead. Remind yourself daily that, as your Redeemer lives, so too shall you see Him face to face!

In the midst of Job’s greatest struggles, he understood the profound truth that his Redeemer lives. Though he was suffering physically and being berated spiritually by his wife and friends, Job had a friend who is closer than a brother. Job knew that, although times were tough, better days were coming. His hope was not in being rescued in this life but in the life to come.

What is your source of hope when times get tough? If you are relying on someone in this world to be your source of hope, you won’t have much. The only One who can give us hope in and through our trials is Jesus. He is our Redeemer and the One who has overcome all aspects of life and death. We must press into Jesus if we desire to remain hopeful in hard times. Lock in and be lifted up—Jesus is our hope in all things.

Father, we thank You for the hope we have in Jesus. He is our Redeemer and our everything. Help us to keep our eyes on Him so we can maintain hope. We pray in Jesus’ name, amen.
