Joshua 5:13

Joshua 5:13 (ESV): 13 When Joshua was by Jericho, he lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, a man was standing before him with his drawn sword in his hand. And Joshua went to him and said to him, “Are you for us, or for our adversaries?”

Jesus loves to make Himself visible to us often. He promised to never leave us or forsake us. He even comes with a sword in hand to fight for us. Our response should be to bow low and worship Him.

As Joshua and the children of Israel are camped in the plains of Jericho they notice a Man walking towards them on the road with His sword drawn. Joshua responds, “Are you for us or against us?” The man responds, “No; but I am the commander of the army of the Lord. Now I have come.” This man is none other than Jesus. He has come to fight for them! Joshua’s response is perfect, he bowed low and worshipped Jesus.

Are you unaware of the presence of Jesus in your battles? Know this, He is present with a sword drawn. He intends to make Himself known so we won't worry about what lies ahead. Jesus has come! He will fight for you. All we need to do is bow low before our Maker and worship Him. He will do the rest. Amen?

Father, we thank You for revealing Jesus in Scripture before He made His earthly appearance. It reminds us that He is with us now. Let us bow low in His presence and trust Him to battle on our behalf we pray in Jesus' name, amen.
