Matthew 21:43-44

Matthew 21:43-44 (ESV): 43 Therefore I tell you, the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people producing its fruits. 44 And the one who falls on this stone will be broken to pieces; and when it falls on anyone, it will crush him.”

Stewardship is a serious thing. Not only does God expect us to bear fruit with what He has entrusted to us, but He also gives us the ability to do so. We are set up to win!

After Jesus triumphantly rode into Jerusalem on a donkey, He went to the temple, where He was challenged by the religious leaders. It was their final rejection of Jesus as their Messiah. He spoke a parable to them that illustrated they were unfaithful servants. Because of this, their privilege of being a light to the nations would be given to another. He was speaking about His church.

Are you being faithful with the Gospel and the proclamation of the Kingdom of God? As a Christian, you are a steward of these things. God expects us to be faithful with them. If we are, we will bear fruit! If we are not, He will turn to someone else to fulfill His will. You and I are positioned to be fruitful, and faithfulness is the vehicle that will get us there! Be faithful with what you’ve been entrusted with! Amen?

Father, thank You for entrusting us with such a privileged position. Help us to be faithful in proclaiming the Good News of Your Son and His Kingdom. We pray in Jesus’ name, amen.
