Matthew 24:36-37

Matthew 24:36-37 (ESV):36 “But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only. 37 For as were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.”

Readiness for the imminent return of Jesus is an important aspect of Christianity. It keeps us engaged and places an urgency in our hearts to stay on mission. Stay ready, Christian, that you may be found faithful when the Lord returns.

As Jesus continues the Olivet Discourse, He teaches His disciples about the need to be ready at all times, for His return is imminent—it could happen at any moment. No one knows when He is coming, but when He does, it will be like the days of Noah, when people were living life as usual despite being warned of impending judgment. The world will not be ready for the return of Christ, but His followers must be!

Are you ready for Jesus to come back? For the Church, this means the Rapture. For the Tribulation Saints, this means the Second Coming. The focus is being ready at all times. What are you doing to keep yourself prepared so that when your Lord returns, He finds you faithful? Stay the course and keep your heart burning for Jesus, for He is coming soon! Amen?

Father, we long to see Your Son coming in the clouds. Get us ready and keep us ready, we pray, in Jesus’ name, amen.
