Micah 3:8

Updated: Dec 30, 2025

Micah 3:8 (ESV): “But as for me, I am filled with power, with the Spirit of the Lord, and with justice and might, to declare to Jacob his transgression and to Israel his sin.”

Being a witness for Christ means being filled with power and wisdom from on high. He does not send His messengers into the world without the empowerment of the Holy Spirit.

Micah was a prophet who lived and ministered alongside Isaiah in Judah. Under the reigns of Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, Judah experienced a time of prosperity. However, the wealthy

were oppressing the poor. Micah was empowered by the Spirit to rebuke those who mistreated the vulnerable and lived licentiously. The Spirit warned of impending judgment, yet also provided a message of hope by declaring that a Deliverer was coming.

Did you know that, like the prophets of old, the Spirit of God desires to speak through you? We have the great privilege of being both filled and sealed with the Holy Spirit—something they did not experience. The Spirit came upon them and He will baptize you as well. Are you sensitive to the message the Spirit desires to speak through you? Don’t hold back, Christian. You were saved for such a time as this. Let the Spirit use you to warn and to bring hope to those around you. He will empower you to be His messenger in these last days. Amen.

Father, pour out Your Spirit upon us and send us into this world with power and wisdom. Speak through us and reveal the need for Your Son, we pray, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
