Psalm 106:43-44

Writer: Tim RomeroTim Romero

Psalm 106:43–44 (ESV): “43  Many times he delivered them, but they were rebellious in their purposes and were brought low through their iniquity. 44  Nevertheless, he looked upon their distress, when he heard their cry.”

God’s grace is greater than our failures. We may rebel and sin, yet God never changes. He remains faithful even when we are not.

The psalmist recounts the history of Israel—how unruly and disobedient they were toward their Creator and God. The children of Israel worshiped idols and forgot the mighty works of God, which led to their discipline. However, time and again, God heard their cries in captivity and delivered them. Even when they faced the consequences of their disobedience, God remained faithful, responding with compassion when they sought Him.

Hasn’t God been faithful to you? Even when we stray from His path and rebel against His will, He remains faithful. The moral of the story is this: You cannot out-sin His grace, and you cannot outrun His love. He is steadfast and immovable. He does not change because of our actions—He is immutable. He is our Savior, always ready to rescue us when we call upon Him. We are never beyond His reach!

Father, we thank You for never changing. Forgive us for the times we have rebelled. Give us a heart that desires to obey and a spirit that remains steadfast in seeking You. Thank You for never giving up on us and remaining faithful at all times. To You be the glory, in Jesus name, Amen.
