Psalm 73:25–26 (ESV): “25 Whom have I in heaven but you? And there is nothing on earth that I desire besides you. 26 My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.”
Life has a way of stripping us down to the bare bones. All the things we thought we couldn’t live without—our plans, our comforts, even the people we love—can slip right through our fingers. Yet, even if all these things are taken from us, we still have all that we need in the Lord. God is enough.
The psalmist isn’t just speaking poetic words; this is his confession and declaration that all he has and needs is God. He understands that he can’t even depend on himself at the end of the day, for his heart and flesh will fail. Yet, he has a portion awaiting him that is so great nothing on earth can compare. He isn’t lacking in any way. He is truly blessed.
Do you realize what you have in Jesus? When everything in life is taken from you, if you have Christ, you have enough! When I feel my own weakness—when my heart is heavy and my body is weary—I’m reminded that my strength doesn’t come from me. My emotions may waver, and my circumstances may shift, but God remains constant. He is my portion, my inheritance, my steady anchor in the storm. He is enough! Count your blessings, friend.
Lord, You are my everything. When the world feels overwhelming and my own heart feels weak, remind me that You are my strength and my portion forever. I have more than I will ever need in You. Thank You. In Jesus name, Amen.
